Dates for the 11th SCYR have been set: From July 22nd to July 26th this regatta will once again be held at Hellevoetsluis, The Netherlands. Prior to the events at Hellevoetsluis, participants may elect to gather at one of three other selected ports: Vlaardingen, Steenbergen or Willemstad.The traditional fun race from Willemstad to Hellevoetsluis will be sailed on July 22nd.
ELEVENTH SHIPMATE CLASSIC YACHT REGATTA (SCYR),
Hellevoetsluis July 22nd- 26th 2009.
Over 200 breathtakingly beautiful, impressively old, tiny but nice, fast and course stable classic yachts race on the Haringvliet during the SCYR, a bi-annual classic sailing regatta which is quite unique for Northern Europe.
An impressive collection of classic yachts with their skippers and family/crew will gather at Hellevoetsluis in The Netherlands.
This event is a “must” for lovers of classic yacht design combined with diverse maritime shore attractions.
All sail races can be followed from the shore and there will be a nautical market in and around the harbour also including enjoyable musical performances around the maritime theme.
